UltraCarry

UltraCarry

Disposable (single-use) sample retainer for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis used to pre-concentrate an aqueous liquid sample onto a uniform sample carrier optimized for the suppression of background noise.

Product information

With the patented Rigaku Ultra Carry (a sample retainer for xrf analysis), you can use your Rigaku NEX CG spectrometer. It quantifies trace elements in aqueous liquids down to parts-per-billion (ppb) concentration levels. Routine elemental analysis of contaminated water or industrial wastewater can now be performed without an Atomic Absorption (AA) or Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) spectrometer. Ultra Carry-based trace element analysis is simple and user-friendly, making it suitable even for non-technical personnel.

  • Analyze a wide range of elements (sodium to uranium)
  • PPB-level elemental detection limits for aqueous samples
  • Simple three-step process: pipette, dry, and analyze
  • Easy-to-use EZ Analysis NEX CG user interface

Novel disposable (single-use) sample retainer for XRF analysis

Ultra Carry is a novel disposable (single-use) sample retainer for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis. It works by preconcentrating a liquid sample into a uniform sample carrier that minimizes background noise. This approach dramatically enhances the signal-to-noise ratio, resulting in almost three orders of magnitude improvement in the Lower Limit of Detection (LLD or LOD) and Limit of Quantification (LOQ) for heavy elements.

The Ultra Carry sample retainer consists of a ring-shaped support with an X-ray transmissive hydrophobic film and a central liquid absorbent pad. For routine use, the Rigaku UltraDry vacuum dryer is ideal as an accessory to streamline the preparation process.
